I haven't recorded or uploaded anything solo in over a year — the last thing I put up was a jam session with Trevor Clay back in November 2025. But I never stopped playing. Most evenings after work and on the weekends, I'm at the piano. I just wasn't capturing any of it.
This weekend I reconnected my audio interface, set up the mic, and downloaded Ableton Live. "The Way We Were" — written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, and Marvin Hamlisch, made famous by Barbra Streisand — is what I happened to be working on, so it became the test run. One take while I dialed everything in.
The plan from here is to record something every weekend — covers, standards, and eventually some originals.
