November 11, 2022: a practice session of "Cold Little Heart" by Michael Kiwanuka, written by Brian Burton, Dean Cover, and Michael Kiwanuka, in B♭ major. According to Last.FM I had spent about 3 hours and 14 minutes with this song before I sat down to record it—long enough to know every chord change before my hands did.
I was also trying out a keyboard with hammer action keys for the first time. The difference from weighted keys is mechanical: hammer action replicates the actual strike mechanism of an acoustic piano rather than just simulating resistance. It changes the feel of the touch considerably.
